Collagraph Printmaking3 Session Class

Instructor:  Sara Tabbert

Dates of the class: February 8, 15, and 22, 2023

Time of the class: 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Location: Pioneer Park - Cabin 66 - The Folk School Print Studio (Click on the link for accessibility information.)

Collagraph is an under-sung printmaking technique that is cheap, simple, experimental, and versatile!

Collagraph plates can be printed using either relief or intaglio methods (don’t worry if this doesn’t mean anything to you!). They are easily shaped and cut, and can stand on their own or be combined with other printmaking techniques.

We will have plenty of materials to work with, but if you want to bring flexible, textured, low-relief material such as fabric, textured paper, yarn, or thread (nothing brittle, breakable, or metal) we can make use of these items in your collagraphs.

All tools and materials outside of basic drawing supplies will be provided. No prior experience necessary.

Note: This class will take place both upstairs in the cabin and downstairs in the printmaking studio. If navigating stairs is a limitation for you, please contact Kerri Hamos, Program Director at kerri@folk.school prior to registering for the class.
