Fat Bikes allow people to experience the great outdoors in a new way. Cyclist Rachael Kvapil examines the important things to consider when selecting a bike, gearing up for inclement weather, and planning a safe journey from start to finish.
We will start by discussing the criteria to consider when choosing a fat bike and how to best research different models without spending a lot of money. Next we will talk about basic gear for short rides in inclement weather with options for longer rides, including evening rides. Last we will address planning a route, the reality of biking with wildlife, and overview a basic travel plan and communication options while biking.
