Have you ever wanted to try weaving a scarf, tea towel, or rug, and found the prospect of threading a loom, designing a project, and finishing all the work way too daunting? Never fear! The New Weavers’ Workshop may be your answer.

In this class, you’ll start weaving right away on a loom already threaded and ready to go. The four instructors supporting the workshop have each chosen special projects that offer great potential to learn new skills but with a very low frustration quotient. The format is very much a workshop – you’ll be working on your own project with a lot of support from experienced weavers. In addition to our three formal class sessions (and it is important to attend all three) you’ll have a bonus evening of social weaving time where you can just come into the workshop, enjoy a cup of tea and some conversation, and maybe even make a little progress on your project.

New Weavers WorkshopWe have looms available for six participants in this class and will offer some different options such as rugs, tea towels, and scarves to appeal to different weaving interests. With four instructors and a small class size, you’ll get plenty of one-on-one time to help make your finished project something to be proud of.

Note: Materials fees will be based on the project – we will collect materials fees on the first night of class. (Instructors will contact students prior to the workshop to determine project and costs.)
