Spinning gradients and using complementary colors in a project

Dates of the class: Materials kits and instructional video will be available on Sunday, November 1, 2020. Materials kits can be picked up at The Folk School cabin. (Shipping is also available for a $5 flat rate.)
Live Zoom follow up meetings will be on Sunday, November 8 at 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm and Saturday, November 14 at 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm.
This workshop will explore spinning in color for a desired final effect in a project. Participants will explore the use of complementary colors and color gradients. Participants will practice three different techniques for combining colors in order to create an intentional, desired effect. Techniques will be used to create yarn needed for a finished project.
Note: Workshop participants must have a spinning wheel and knitting needles, and a sound working knowledge of spinning and knitting is required.
Susan will release an initial video detailing the blending and spinning technique used on November 1st. The materials kit will also
be available at this time. Materials kits can be picked up at The Folk School cabin.
Participants will have a couple of weeks to practice the technique. Susan will supplement the technique video with live Zoom follow up meetings on Sunday, November 8 at 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm and Saturday, November 14 at 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm.

Prerequisites: A sound working knowledge of spinning and knitting is required.
Materials fee: $50 (Includes hand blended roving in a selection of colors. There will be enough fiber provided for sample swatches and a finished cowl.)
