The Tapestry Weaving Skill-Building Workshop provides ongoing instruction and support for weavers working with their own designs.
Each session will start with a demonstration of a tapestry weaving technique that you may find interesting or helpful and the remainder of the session will be dedicated to weaving time with an instructor on hand to answer questions, demonstrate techniques, and suggest approaches that could work to support the design you have in mind.
The topic on September 30th will be Weft Bundling – using multiple strands of thin yarn to create color blending and movement in your design.
Loaner looms will be available and a small selection of materials will be on hand to allow you to experiment with different fibers, weights of yarn, and weft bundling. Some supplies will be available for purchase as well. Short-term loaner looms available on request, though students interested in furthering their tapestry weaving skills are encouraged to make or purchase their own.
Note: Bring your own tapestry loom if you have one. The instructor has a limited number of looms available for students to borrow. Please include a note with registration if you need to borrow a loom.
