Time of the class: 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Location: Pioneer Park - Cabin 66

Spice up your strumming with Lisa, the Ukulele Fool.

Sure, it is fun to play some jazzy chords, but unless you have variety in your strumming hand, your uke playing will be bland. This workshop will start out with some basic strums: cowboy strum, island strum, rock strum. We will also work on changing strums within a song and cover some more complicated strums: chucking, roll strums, pluck strum percussion effects, pump strum.

The chord charts for this workshop includes these chords: C, G, F, Am, D, Em, Bb, A, C7, G7, D7, E7, Bm. The song repertoire will include folk songs, sea shanties, early rock and roll and even some pop songs from the past 10 years. Students will be emailed a song list with links so they can become familiar with the tunes before class.

Additionally, students will have access to instructional videos for reference and further study after the workshop.
