5 Day Camp

Spend a week with The Folk School learning about our town and integrating art into daily life! Campers will start each day at Pioneer Park, taking walks from there to explore the historical features and natural wonders in the surrounding area while learning from artists, naturalists, and other educators familiar with Fairbanks history, flora, and fauna.
Life drawing skills will be sharpened daily with subject-specific exercises in a variety of materials such as oil and chalk pastels, as well as graphite, charcoal and crayons. Campers will also have a chance to learn several art making processes such as printmaking, sculpture, and painting in traditional mediums including, acrylic, watercolors and ink wash.
Campers will spend the majority of the camp outdoors, and will be walking throughout the day.
