4 Session Class

Dates of the class: November 4, 7, 8 & 9, 2018

Time of the class: Sunday: 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm, Wednesday – Friday: 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm each evening

Location: Pioneer Park - Cabin 66 - Back Room

In the first session, students will prepare to harvest the supplies for their basket, learning about cutting, storing, size, locations, and species of willow. After the initial class, using this information, students will cut twigs to use in the remaining sessions.

In the 3 following class sessions, students will learn the construction of the bottom and sides of the basket, then finish and seal the edge. Be prepared for a hands-on class.

Materials to bring to class: 

  • hand held twig cutters (you can get from any hardware store)
  • Rope or small bungee cords
  • 4 old towels
  • pocket knife
  • work gloves 

Maximum number of students: 10

Minimum number of students: 6

Age range: 10 to adult (ages 10 – 17 require a accompanying co-learning adult also registered in the class)
