Melissa Fischer - Instructors
Melissa Fischer
Melissa is a life-long Alaskan with a passion for the outdoors and self-sufficiency. She grew up in Delta Junction and was taught at a young age the importance of living off the land and providing for herself. Right out of high school she chose to pursue a career in wildland fire and has been doing it ever since. A large part of her job over the years has been to become proficient in the use of chainsaws. With over 18 years of experience, she hopes to share that knowledge and power with other people who are curious and hungry to be more self-sufficient and powerful. Working in a male-dominated field as a woman has taught her many things, one of those being the importance of empowering and supporting fellow women. She hopes to show people what she has learned and help them reach their full potential. She prides herself in being an effective and supportive leader and a strong role model.
